1. Important information and who we are

Siretta Ltd is located in Reading, United Kingdom and is a leading manufacturer and developer of IoT products, IoT software and IoT solutions. Our specialty being in providing these for Industrial markets and business to business applications. Siretta supplies products directly and via a worldwide network of distributors into numerous markets and applications across the globe. Siretta’s distribution partners range from industrial IoT specialists through to global catalogue organisations providing an unrivalled level of regional and local technical expertise and applications knowledge. At Siretta, we are committed to ensuring that all and any personal data received by us is recorded, used and stored in line with regulatory and statutory requirements. This privacy policy tells you about your privacy rights. It is important that you read this privacy policy so that you are fully aware of how and why we are using your data.

As part of the registration process for our newsletters and information emails, we collect personal information. We use that information for several reasons: to tell you about products and services you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to periodically check that you’re happy and satisfied in your dealings with us. We don’t refer, rent or trade email lists with any other organisations or businesses.

2. Data we collect

Personal data means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified but does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).
We mainly store corporate information, but we may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you. We have categorised this as detailed below.

  • Contact and identity data including name, email address, phone number, job title.
  • Commercial data may include company name and address, transaction history and previous service use.
  • Technical data may include cookie data when using our websites. When using our services this may also include Siretta device license, IMEI number, software information and derived location/telemetry. More detailed device information may be required if you are requesting technical support such as network name or type.
  • Marketing and communication (MarCom) includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our authorised distribution channels (if requested), and your communication or newsletter preferences.

We do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious, political or philosophical beliefs, sex life or sexual orientation) nor do we collect biometric information.

This privacy notice does not cover the links within this site to other websites. Those sites are not governed by this Privacy Policy, and if you have questions about how a site uses your information, you’ll need to check that site’s privacy statement.

3. How is your personal data collected?

Siretta may use the following methods of gathering data about you or your use of our services:

Directly through interaction with us

You may from time to time share with us via email, phone, post or other method your identity or contact information. This includes information supplied when you:

  • apply for or use our products or services,
  • make an enquiry or support request on one of our websites,
  • subscribe to our publications or request marketing to be sent to you,
  • give us feedback or contact us.

Indirectly

For example, via a third-party marketing company or if your employer or an event organiser does any of the above on your behalf.

Cookies Policy and other automated interactions

Our newsletter and regular marketing emails are sent to contacts in our own database of contacts that have expressly signed up to receive them. If we conduct one-off mailings with partners, they will only be sent to contacts who have opted in. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our information provision.

When someone visits www.siretta.com or www.portal.siretta.com we use third-party services such as Google Analytics or hot-jar to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our websites.

The www.siretta-link.com  site uses cookies for account authentication only, to allow the use of the services therein.

Our www.cloud-survey.co.uk  website uses cookies for authentication for the services provided. The cloud-survey service uses a google maps API to plot the location data derived from cell tower information of any devices you have registered to your cloud-survey account.

How long are cookies stored for?

We use a system of classifying the different types of cookies which we use on our websites, or which may be used by third parties through our websites. The classification was developed by the International Chamber of Commerce UK and explains more about which cookies we use, why we use them, and the functionality you will lose if you decide you don’t want to have them on your device.

Persistent cookies – these cookies remain on a user’s device for the period of time specified in the cookie. They are activated each time that the user visits the website that created that cookie.

Session cookies – these cookies allow website operators to link the actions of a user during a browser session. A browser session starts when a user opens the browser window and finishes when they close the browser window. Session cookies are created temporarily. Once you close the browser, all session cookies are deleted.

5. Third parties and disclosure of data

We may share your personal information with third parties for some of the purposes detailed in section 4, “How we use your personal data”, such as:

We utilise a Customer Relationship Management company called Constant Contact, via their Sharpspring platform.
On our behalf they manage email marketing and provide lead generation from information gathered from our distribution channels and interaction with our websites and newsletters.

Siretta offers a subscription model on some of its services, for this a third-party payment system called Stripe is used. We do not process this payment information.

Server hosting providers such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure (hosted in the UK).

Other business software such as SAP (UK server) and Microsoft (EU and UK based servers).

We may also share information with our authorised distribution channels. These are detailed on our website https://www.siretta.com/where-to-buy/.
They should not share this information with third parties without your and our consent.

We may share your personal data with third parties to whom we may choose to sell, transfer or merge parts of our business or our assets.
Alternatively, we may seek to acquire other businesses or merge with them.
If a change happens to our business, then the new owners may use your personal data in the same way as set out in this privacy policy.

6. International transfers

We may transfer data to an international third party for the performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation or other legitimate business interest.
The UK government has stated that transfers of data from the UK to the EEA are permitted. Transfer to the US is covered by the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely including using GDPR compliant contractors where possible and using end to end TLS internet encryption that provides privacy and data integrity for communications.

7. Data security

Siretta has put security in place to prevent your personal data from being accessed in an unauthorised way, accidently lost, altered or disclosed.
We also limit access to only those staff members, contractors and third parties that need access to it for specific purposes.

8. Data retention

We will retain personal information we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements). Section 9 details the rights that you have to control your data.

9. Your legal rights

Access to your personal information

We have appointed a data protection officer who is responsible for overseeing questions in relation to this privacy policy. If you have any questions about this privacy policy, including any requests to exercise your legal rights, or any other questions regarding our privacy practices, please contact the data protection officer Robert Wardle or by post at the address below.

You have the right to request access to, or the rectification of data about you that we hold.

You can request deletion of your data when we have no lawful reason to process it and it will be removed from our live systems. If data is held in a back-up, it will be removed in line with our established back-up schedule, until that time it will not be processed.
In some cases, there may be a legal reason why we cannot delete your data, you will be notified of this reason at the time if it is applicable.

You can request the restriction of our processing of your data in some instances for example when you think the data is inaccurate, has been processed unlawfully or you think Siretta longer needs the personal data, but you need to keep it in order to exercise or defend a legal claim.

You can request the transfer of your data to a third party. Data portability allows individuals to obtain and reuse their personal data for their own purposes across different services.

You have the right to object to the processing of your data if you feel it impacts your fundamental rights or freedoms. In some instances, we may have a compelling legal reason which may override your rights.

You can opt-out of marketing communications we send you at any time. You can do this right by clicking on the “unsubscribe” or “opt-out” link in the marketing e-mails we send you.
To opt-out of other forms of marketing (such as postal marketing or telemarketing), then please email the data protection officer Robert Wardle.

Similarly, if we have collected and process your personal information with your consent, then you can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority about our collection and use of your personal information.
